Back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s I remember getting excited about new technologies. LCD monitors was one of my favorites. I can remember going to the electronics store to see the magical thin profile of these monitors. Of course I didn’t buy them, far too expensive for my taste, but I was excited about them all the same.
Product releases were few and far between, but when those gadgets were released, they were something to behold. Does anyone remember the launch of the first RAZR phone by Motorola? There has always been the long standing joke of the technology that is out of date mere months after it’s release, but I had no idea how much worse it could be. We now see manufacturers holding back features by design. Many have succeeding versions ready at the time of the primary product launch. Companies like Samsung are releasing new versions as if they are Harry Potter sequels. Apple has even made an event out of it. We now expect that at a certain time each year, we will get an announcement of an event. And we will all watch live-blogs and the evening news to find out what the newest features are.
All these clockwork releases have insured that more consumers will have pockets filled with devices at all times. The hit TV show The Office even has a character, Ryan, that exaggerates this need to be tied to his cell phone. Now during dates, lunches, and meetings. One special event company even blogs about the problem posed by always having cameras available.

So this album is from “the fray”. It’s a 3 or 4 piece band that has a lot of dynamic range. Whoever is in charge of this band really knows how to run a band. They have basically the same setup as most bands, except the guy that plays keys doesn’t just play keys and organ.
It’s very cool how they all interact and switch roles and sounds within the songs. They don’t all just play the chords to the songs – they all have parts and add to what the total sound is. I love it.

If I win this contest my script will be read by some of the most improvement and established professors in Hollywood today. It is very exciting for me because I really am eager to win. If I went to my mother will finally be proud of me and that is an extra bonus.
I have such a guilty conscience, and for good reason I should say. I hate this feeling of guilt but I keep getting myself into situations where I allow things to happen, or I want them to happen and I don’t ever think about the consequences until it’s too late. It seems to have been happening to me for as long as I can remember and as a result I have lost a lot of friends, a lot of trust and a lot of respect for myself…and all I’ve gained is a guilty conscience.
I was always a bit of a trickster at school and sometimes those tricks weren’t very nice. There’s a lot of talk of bullying in schools these days. Well, that was me. I never meant to be a bully. It was just about getting a laugh but as I said the repercussions of my being a bully only hit me after the event. I actually would go home a lot of those days and go to my room and cry thinking about the cruelty I was capable of. I was pretty arrogant and egocentric back then too. Actually I still am. I ran into a guy that I used to bully quite badly at school the other day. He was getting off the tube and I saw him as I was getting on. My first reaction was one of horror about the way I’d treated him but, true to form, as I walked past him I smirked and gave him a bit of a shoulder shove. He lost his balance a bit and nearly fell over and I laughed. I got home, had a whiskey and balled my god damn eyes out.
Early this year I took a holiday with a girl, a girl who was not my girlfriend. I do have a girlfriend and she’s great. I love her, mostly I think because she loves me. Even though I’m such a mess she thinks I’m the best and she would do anything for me, anything. She’s a really sweet girl. She threw me a big birthday party last year. She invited everyone I knew, family and some not so savoury types that she doesn’t like all that much but she still invited them because she knew how much I’d get a kick out of it. Anyway, I met this other girl at the pub and before I knew it there we were having a bit of something on the side. She asked me to go to Brighton with her for the holiday weekend. What was I supposed to do? I didn’t want to miss something special. Stupid me, that old guilty conscience came a knockin’ the moment I kissed her goodbye. I went home to my girl, gave her a kiss (I’d told her it was a boy’s weekend) and then went directly to the loo and threw up. I’m not cut out for this occupation of cheating, bullying and lying I’ve taken up but I can’t change now. Anyway, isn’t it human nature?
My sister had a sweet baby girl about a week ago. I’ve been having so much fun taking dinner and various baby things over there. It’s my excuse to see little Clara. I have been thinking about getting my sister’s family the gift of memories. I want to hire a photographer for her. I’d love to see their family be able to have pictures with their new baby.
